Living Donation
Living donation is when a relative, friend or even a stranger donates one of his or her kidneys, or a portion of the liver, to someone in need. More than 85 percent of the people waiting for a lifesaving transplant in the United States are waiting for a kidney, and living donation significantly reduces that wait.
